While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza: 72 martyrs in Gaza within 24 hours

Tuesday 21-January-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that its crews have dealt with 72 bodies of martyrs, 68 of which were recovered from under the rubble.

The Ministry added on Tuesday in its daily statistical report on the death toll and injuries of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, that Gaza’s hospitals also dealt with 56 injuries.

(Thus, the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has surged to 47,170 martyrs, in addition to 111,494 injured since October 7, 2023).

“A number of victims are still under the rubble, and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them,” the statement added.

Earlier this morning, a report by the Civil Defense in Gaza showed that its crews recovered eight bodies in Gaza and northern Gaza, while southern Gaza provinces witnessed the recovery of 58 bodies.

The ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel came into effect a couple of days ago following 470 days of Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Number of civilians killed since start of Israeli aggression on Gaza reaches 47,161

GAZA, January 22, 2025 (WAFA) -

The number of civilians killed since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7th, 2023, has reached 47,161, the majority of whom are children and women. Some (initial estimate) 111,166 others have been wounded, according to medical sources.

Thousands of victims are still trapped under the rubble or scattered on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense teams are facing difficulties in reaching them due to the continued Israeli attacks, the massive amount of debris and the shortage of fuel and heavy equipment.

At least 54 bodies have been brought to hospitals in the Gaza Strip, 53 of whom were recovered from under the rubble, while one citizen succumbed to his injuries.

Additionally, 19 injuries were reported as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

Casualty data in Gaza are incomplete due to the intensive Israeli aggression, the repeated and complete interruption of communication and internet services, lack of fuel and devastated infrastructure, which render it difficult to document figures.

Al-Bursh: We have collected 100 martyrs from the roads of northern Gaza

Wednesday 22-January-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Director of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, Dr. Muneer Al-Bursh, confirmed that Palestinian Civil Defense crews collected more than 100 martyrs from the roads of northern Gaza Strip, most of them are remains of unidentified persons.

In press statements on Tuesday, Al-Bursh announced that there are more than 10,000 martyrs still under the rubble of houses in northern Gaza Strip.

He explained that the Israeli aggression on the northern Gaza Strip has left more than 4,000 martyrs and missing, according to what has been counted so far, and the number is expected to increase.

He pointed out that Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) opened fire at ambulances while trying to rescue the wounded and retrieve the martyrs from the targeted areas during the aggression period, which led to bodies of martyrs being left on the roads for more than 90 days for dogs to devour.

For his part, the spokesman for the Palestinian Civil Defense, Ma'hmoud Basal, said dozens of people trapped in the northern Gaza Strip were martyred under the rubble of their destroyed homes during the 15-month aggression, as they could not be rescued due to the inability of rescue teams to respond to their distress calls, in light of the weak capabilities and the IOFs targeting of ambulances and crews.

Basal further explained that rescue teams received daily distress calls from injured citizens trapped under the rubble of their homes in the northern Gaza Strip, but civil defense crews could not reach them due to being out of service and the inability to respond to humanitarian missions, due to deliberate targeting by the Israeli occupation army, which led to the increase in the number of victims.

Israeli drone attack kills one civilian, injures four others in Rafa'h, in southern Gaza Strip

GAZA, January 22, 2025 (WAFA) -

A civilian was killed and four others were injured on Wednesday evening by gunfire fired from an Israeli drone in Rafa'h, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that an Israeli quadcopter drone opened fire on a group of civilians near a playground in the Al-Shaboura refugee camp. The group was working on cleaning and clearing the rubble from their homes when the attack occurred, resulting in the killing of a 28-year-old civilian and the wounding of four others.

This attack is part of the ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which came into effect last Sunday. In recent days, several Palestinians have been killed and wounded as the Israeli occupation forces continue their direct targeting of civilians.

Palestinian Water Authority: Massive destruction in water and sewage sector in Northern Gaza

Wednesday 22-January-2025

RAMALLAH, (PIC)

The Palestinian Water Authority announced on Tuesday that its crews have begun, since ceasefire came into effect last Sunday, a rapid field survey of water and sewage facilities in the northern Gaza Strip, which witnessed a tight siege throughout the Israeli genocidal war.

The Water Authority said in a statement that “the results of the survey revealed massive destruction in the northern areas, as more than 70 percent of them were completely destroyed, including about 25 water wells.”

“The current destruction has caused a complete collapse of the water supply system in northern Gaza, which has been suffering from a severe shortage of water over the past year, as it has decreased to very low rates of about three liters per day per person, in addition to the major losses incurred by the infrastructure with the collapse of the sewage pumping and treatment systems,” it added.

The Authority underlined that “the evaluation process included the central pumping station in Bait Lahya, which is still standing despite the direct targeting, with severe malfunctions in the mechanical and electromechanical components of the pump and transmission line.”

The Authority explained that “over the past year, it worked to support the operation of about 35 water wells and a main pumping station in the North Gaza Governorate by supplying them with the necessary fuel to operate them, in addition to following up on repair and maintenance operations on an ongoing basis in coordination with partner agencies.”

The efforts included “completing maintenance and repair work on the flood line related to the sewage station in Jabalya and reactivating it as well as dealing with the damage that affected a group of wells that were completely or partially destroyed during the aggression,” according to the statement.

The Water Authority confirmed that it “resumed supplying fuel to nine groundwater wells, which are the only ones that are operable in the North Gaza Governorate after the massive destruction the area has witnessed.

Wednesday 22-January-2025

Al-Khaleel (Hebron), (PIC)

The Palestinian health ministry said a Palestinian woman suffering from a health issue died at a checkpoint in the northeast of Al-Khaleel (Hebron) on Tuesday evening, after the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) obstructed her transfer to a hospital.

According to the Health Ministry, the 45-year-old Palestinian woman, Iman Jaradat, died of a heart attack after the Israeli occupation forces at the Beit Einun Israeli checkpoint prevented her transfer to a hospital.

Meanwhile, local sources said that the IOFs blocked Al-Sidr road and the entrances of Al-Fawwar and Sa’ir, in Al-Khaleel (Hebron) Province.

They added that heavy traffic jams happened on roads in different areas of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), as a result of the Israeli road closures, including in Ras Al-Joura, Farsh Al-Hawa, and 'Osh Al-Ghurab.

Three days ago, the IOFs started imposing strict military measures and restricting the movement of Palestinian citizens and vehicles across the West Bank, especially through blocking roads and setting up checkpoints.

Large-scale Israeli occupation forces' attack on Jineen enters second day, amid fierce Palestinian resistance

Wednesday 22-January-2025

Jineen, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) has continued, for the second day running, its large-scale aggression against Jineen and its refugee camp, amid clashes with the Palestinian resistance fighters.

The IOFs also continued to block all the entrances of Jineen refugee camp as part of its tight siege on the area, amid ongoing drone overflights.

According to local sources, renewed clashes broke out on Wednesday morning between resistance fighters and Israeli forces following a violent day in Jineen, where at least 10 Palestinian citizens were killed and about 100 others suffered injuries in relentless Israeli shooting and aerial attacks.

Local sources said that the Israeli attacks in Jineen refugee camp forced at least 600 citizens to leave their homes.

Meanwhile, the resistance in the Jineen refugee camp continued today to detonate explosive devices and open fire at IOFs vehicles and soldiers.

Several Israeli occupation soldiers were reportedly injured during the ongoing IOFs campaign in Jineen.

The IOFs kidnaped a wounded young man along with his father and brother as well as three other citizens during its raid in Jineen refugee camp.

Local sources said that power outages happened in the Jineen refugee camp as a result of the Israeli aggression, which weakened telecommunications and internet services.

On Tuesday, the Israeli occupation army launched a large-scale military operation called the “Iron Wall” in the Jineen area and its refugee camp after ordering the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces to end their weeks-long raid in Jenin and withdraw from the area.

As part of their security cooperation with the Israeli occupation army, the PA forces stormed the medical center in 'Ajjah village to look for and arrest any wounded citizen evacuated from Jineen City or its refugee camp.

PA soldiers also arrested A'hmed Abu 'Ameera, a senior commander of the Jineen Brigade, during a raid in Qabatya town, south of Jineen.

Jineen: Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression for the second day in a row

Jineen, January 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation forces continue the aggression on the city of Jineen and its refugee camp, for the second day in a row.

WAFA correspondent said that the occupation forces detained wounded youth Ashraf Bahr, his father and his brother from Jenin camp, while seizing a house and turning it into a concentration point in Khallet Al-Saw'ha.

The occupation bulldozers began at dawn on Wednesday to bulldoze a street and the entrance to Jineen Governmental Hospital, and closed its entrances with earth mounds.

They also bulldozed the surroundings of Ibn Seena Hospital, and deliberately destroyed streets in the city and around the camp, while snipers climbed the roofs of houses and residential buildings overlooking Jineen refugee camp, all while continuing to close its entrances and prevent residents from leaving it.

The director of Jineen Hospital, Wisam Bakr, told WAFA that the occupation vehicles bulldozed the main street in front of the entrance to Jenin Governmental Hospital, and closed its entrances with earth mounds, which made it difficult to enter and exit it, in addition to the inability of medical crews to reach it.

He warned of the repercussions of this closure on the transport of patients via ambulances, noting that the Red Cross is informed of the latest developments on the ground.

The Israeli occupation forces are sending more military reinforcements to the city of Jenin and the entrances to its camp until the early morning hours.

The occupation forces stormed the city of Jineen and its refugee camp yesterday in an unprecedented aggression, accompanied by military bulldozers, coinciding with the flying of occupation drones and warplanes in the airspace, as the death toll from the aggression on its first day reached 10, and nearly 40 injuries.

The Israeli occupation army announced yesterday that it had launched an aggression on the city of Jineen and its refugee camp, amid threats from ministers in the Israeli occupation apartheid regime to escalate the situation in the West Bank.

Israeli occupation forces kidnap 30 Palestinian workers in Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), subject them to harsh field interrogations

Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), January 22, 2025 (WAFA) -

In an ongoing escalation, Israeli occupation forces intensified on Wednesday their punitive measures across the West Bank, with reports of further arbitrary kidnappings and heightened restrictions on Palestinians.

In the town of Tuquo' southeast of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), Israeli occupation forces briefly kidnapped nearly 30 Palestinian workers who were constructing a road in the Khirbet Al-Dair area, which links the town of Tuquo' with Jannatah town. No reason was provided for their detention.

According to local sources, the workers were subjected to harsh field interrogations and forced to sit on the ground.

Israeli occupation forces continue to carry out field interrogations in multiple West Bank areas, coupled with widespread abuse, assaults, threats and acts of vandalism and destruction targeting civilians and their homes. Systematic kidnapping campaigns, a central aspect of the occupation's policy, have intensified to unprecedented levels since October 2023, marked by a significant rise in both the number of detainees and the severity of crimes committed by the occupation forces.

The Israeli occupation forces force local residents to evacuate from neighborhoods in Jenin camp to Wadi Burqin

Jineen, January, 22, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces forced a number of local citizens in neighborhoods inside Jineen refugee camp to evacuate their homes to Wadi Burqeen.

Jineen Mayor Mu'hammad Jarrar said in a phone call with WAFA that the occupation forces forced residents to evacuate from neighborhoods on Mahyoub Street, Jabal Abu Dthahir and other areas, after calling on them via loudspeakers to evacuate.

He added that the occupation opened one passage to force residents to take, which is towards the return roundabout in the camp, and then to Wadi Burqeen.

Jarrar said that the municipality contacted the municipalities of Burqeen, Kafr Dan, and 'Arraba to send vehicles to transport the evacuated families and secure them in these towns.

He pointed out that the occupation prevents the movement of municipal crews in the field, as they face difficulty in transporting citizens, and several international institutions have been contacted to secure the emergency needs of those who were evacuated.

Jarrar said that the continued occupation aggression on the camp means it is difficult to count the number of families forced to evacuate.

He added that 600 citizens have been trapped inside Jineen Governmental Hospital since the aggression began yesterday, Tuesday, and the occupation prevented them from leaving, which led to the hospital being exhausted and food running out completely, but they were allowed to leave this morning after the hospital entrances were closed with dirt barriers.

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces pushed two bulldozers to the entrances to Jenin camp, while evacuation calls continued for residents in several neighborhoods.

The occupation forces stormed the city of Jineen and its refugee camp yesterday, in an unprecedented aggression, accompanied by military bulldozers, coinciding with the flying of occupation drones and warplanes in the airspace, as the death toll from the aggression on its first day reached 10 people, and about 40 injuries.

The Israeli occupation army announced yesterday that it had launched an aggression on the city of Jineen and its refugee camp, amid threats from ministers in the occupation government to escalate the situation in the West Bank.

Five Palestinians sustain injuries in a settler attack in Masafir Yatta

Al-Khaleel (Hebron), January, 22, 2024 (WAFA) –

Five Palestinians were injured on Wednesday and others fainted after they were attacked by dozens of the illegal extremist Israeli settlers in Masafir Yatta, south of Al-Khaleel (Hebron).

Activist Osama Makhamra told WAFA that dozens of the illegal Israeli settlers attacked residents in Khirbet Aqwawis in Masafir Yatta, assaulted them and sprayed tear gas in their faces, which led to the injury of an elderly man.

Several young men were also sustained injures, fractures and bruises due to the attack. They were transferred by ambulance crews to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a number of other residents fainted after they were sprayed with poisonous pepper gas by the colonists and they were treated in the field.

Makhamra added that the colonists have recently significantly escalated their attacks on Palestinians and their proprieties in Masafir Yatta,.

These attacks involve, attacking and assaulting  residents` homes and sheep pens, chasing the shepherds and farmers, and preventing them by force from reaching their fields and pastures, in an attempt to force them to leave their lands and forcibly displace them from the area, in favor of colonial expansion.

Israeli occupation forces close roads in Al-Khaleel (Hebron), intensify restrictions

Al-Khaleel (Hebron), January 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces closed on Wednesday afternoon several roads and blocked entrances to multiple villages and towns in the Al-Khaleel (Hebron) governorate, further tightening punitive measures against Palestinian residents, according to WAFA correspondent.

WAFA correspondent said Israeli forces sealed off the entrances to the town of Al-Dthahiriya and the village of Wadi Al-Shajni south of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), using earth mounds and concrete barriers, noting that the said entrances have long been closed with iron gates.

In addition, the occupation forces escalated their punitive restrictions, preventing the free movement of citizens between villages and towns in the governorate.

It is important to note that these punitive measures led to the killing of 45-year-old Iman 'Eid Jaradat, a resident of Sa'ir northeast of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), on Tuesday. Iman Jaradat, a mother of six, died after being obstructed from reaching a hospital by Israeli occupation forces at the Bait Ainoun checkpoint northeast of Hebron. She was suffering from symptoms of a heart attack.

According to the Illegal Settlements and Wall Resistance Commission, the number of checkpoints and iron gates established by the Israeli occupation army in the West Bank has reached 898, with 18 iron gates installed since the beginning of 2025.

Israeli occupation forces intensify siege on Aree'ha (Jericho), escalating economic crisis

Aree'ha (Jericho), January 22, 2025 (WAFA) -

Israeli occupation forces continued on Wednesday their tightened siege on the city of Aree'ha (Jericho), imposing severe restrictions on movement and inflicting significant damage on the city’s economy, particularly its agricultural and tourism sectors.

The ongoing blockade, enforced through military checkpoints and lengthy vehicle inspections, has left residents and businesses struggling to cope with the escalating crisis.

Witnesses reported that on Wednesday, Israeli forces raided Jericho via Jerusalem Street, sparking confrontations, during which live ammunition and tear gas canisters were fired by the army.

Forces also seized a truck in the southern part of the city.

'Husain Hamayil, Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, highlighted the dire economic impact of the siege, noting that agricultural prices have plummeted by 90%, devastating farmers. The tourism sector is also experiencing unprecedented losses, he added.

The four main entrances to Jericho remain blocked with military checkpoints, causing severe delays. Hundreds of vehicles were piled up at the checkpoint, as Israeli forces inspected vehicles and checked passengers’ identification cards.

898 military checkpoints and gates besiege Palestinians in the West Bank

RAMALLAH, January 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

The number of Israeli checkpoints and iron gates erected and installed by the occupation army in the West Bank has reached 898, sources confirmed.

The Director General of Publication and Documentation at the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, 'Aamir Dawood, stated during a phone call with WAFA today that out of the 898 military barriers and iron gates, 18 iron gates were installed by the occupation since the beginning of 2025.

He added that the last iron gate was the gate of the town of Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya, which the occupation army installed this morning, so that the final total of the number of checkpoints in all their types is 898, including 146 iron gates after October 7, 2023.

Dawood pointed out that the colonists, under the protection of the occupation army, carried out a series of attacks on Palestinian villages and towns, citizens' vehicles and their property, especially in eastern Qalqilya, which indicates that there is a functional exchange between them, to embitter the lives of Palestinians..

For the third consecutive day, the occupation forces tightened the military measures at most of the entrances and exits of the governorates in the West Bank.

Israeli occupation forces continue to impose strict restriction on entrances, exists of West Bank cities

RAMALLAH, January 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

For the third day in a row, the Israeli occupation forces continue to tighten the military measures at most of the entrances and exits of the governorates in the West Bank.

Local sources reported to WAFA that the occupation tightened military measures at 'Atara and 'Ain Siniya checkpoints in the vicinity of Ramallah and Al-Beereh.

The same sources added that 'Atara and 'Ain Siniya checkpoints north of Ramallah are seeing a stifling traffic for those leaving for the third day in a row, as occupation soldiers inspect vehicles and check citizens' ID cards, while hundreds of vehicles line up in long queues, waiting to be allowed to leave.

The occupation forces closed the entrances to the villages of Nabi Elias and Kafr Laqeef with an iron gate, and prevented civilians from moving, and set up military checkpoints at the entrances to the villages of Al-Funduq, Jeet, and 'Hajja, east of Qalqilya, which hindered the movement of people along the main Qalqilya-Nablus road, which connects these villages.

The occupation forces also closed Tayaseer military checkpoint east of Toubas with iron gates, and prevented citizens from crossing, especially those heading towards the Jordan Valley.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces tightened the military measures at Al-'Hamra military checkpoint, and hindered the movement of citizens, which caused a stifling traffic.

The two checkpoints have been seeing military tightening and repeated closures of citizens' movements for a year and a half, which have intensified over the past three days.

Hundreds of citizens spent the night at the checkpoints, waiting to cross them and reach their places of work.

The occupation separates the cities of the West Bank from the Jordan Valley through these two checkpoints, and citizens' access to the Jordan Valley has become dependent on the flexibility of the checkpoints.

The occupation forces also tightened measures at the Qalandya and Jaba' military checkpoints north of occupied Jerusalem, which hindered the movement of citizens and caused a stifling traffic.

In Nablus Governorate, the occupation forces tightened the military measures as well and set up military checkpoints at the entrances to Beita, Jurish, Sawiya, and Aqraba, and closed the iron gates at the entrances to Yatma and Bureen.

According to local sources, the Dair Sharaf checkpoint is seeing a stifling traffic, while vehicles at Al-Murabba’ and 'Awarta checkpoints to the south and Bait Foureek to the east are subjected to thorough inspection.

In a separate context, Israeli forces stormed the town of Bait Foureek, the village of Rujeib, and Al-'Ain refugee camp, raided a number of homes, and tampered with their contents.

In an updated statistic by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the number of Israeli military checkpoints and gates in the West Bank has risen to 898, including more than 173 iron gates that have been placed since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, and 17 since the beginning of this year.

Al-Azhar Foundation in Egypt launches international aid campaign to rebuild Gaza

Wednesday 22-January-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Al-Azhar Foundation in Egypt announced the formation of an operations room to launch an international campaign to aid and rebuild the Gaza Strip, following the ceasefire that came into effect last Sunday.

Al-Azhar said on Wednesday that more than 80 countries and institutions are participating in the international campaign, noting that the first convoy has already entered the Strip following the ceasefire, consisting of 200 trucks loaded with thousands of tons of urgent relief aid, including tents, blankets, mattresses, and food supplies.

The Foundation explained that the aid will be distributed to the people of the Gaza Strip in refugee camps in all cities, until the start of the Gaza reconstruction phase and the return of the displaced to their homes.

The Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai had previously reported that the number of trucks that entered the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire agreement came into force reached 1,770 trucks, including 110 fuel trucks, stressing that there are about 4,000 trucks ready to enter the Strip successively.

The United Nations reported, on Wednesday, that the number of trucks reached 2,400.

Meanwhile, the trucks of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work lined up on the Ismailia Road, in preparation for moving towards the Rafa'h land crossing, as part of the ninth convoy organized by the alliance to support the Gaza Strip.

The convoy includes a large number of trucks loaded with humanitarian and relief aid, carrying food, medicines, and medical supplies, with the aim of meeting the needs of those affected in the Gaza Strip.

The entities and institutions of the National Alliance participated in preparing the convoy, bringing the total aid convoys provided since the beginning of the crisis to more than 2,619 trucks, with approximately 54,000 tons of various aid.

The National Alliance confirmed that this convoy comes as a continuation of its efforts to provide sustainable support to affected families in Gaza, stressing that these efforts reflect Egypt’s full solidarity with the Palestinian people in facing the difficult circumstances they are going through.

The coalition pointed out that the aid distribution process will be coordinated with the relevant authorities to ensure that it reaches those who deserve it as quickly and efficiently as possible, which enhances the Egyptian role in supporting the Palestinian cause, whether at the official or societal level.

UN official warns that Israel may commit genocide in the West Bank

NEW YORK, January 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, warned of the possibility of Israel committing genocide in the West Bank similar to the one it committed in the Gaza Strip.

This came in a post on X, in which she commented on the aggression launched by the Israeli occupation forces on the city of Jineen and its refugee camp.

Albanese continued: "The crimes of genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinians will not be limited to Gaza, if it is not forced to stop."

The number of slain Palestinians as a result of the ongoing occupation aggression on Jenin and its camp has reached 10, including a child, while the number of injuries has exceeded 40.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
